Army of Darkness in Space - process

I don't really do process posts very often... I don't post very often... But I thought it would be fun to share. Above I've included my initial... "pencils" for the piece. From there you see drawing more refined... I decided to ink the spaceman on a separate piece to duplicate and manipulate clones and make minor adjustments easier. I was initially going for sort of a propaganda meets vertigo type vibe... and things sort of just turned into this. I don't color often so I tried some stuff out to try and get out of my comfort zone. Not sure if I'm finished with it... not sure about the blood splatter framing evil ash...need to render out things a bit more and try and make that hand pop...but in general I like where this almost is.

We made it up on Bleeding Cool again. Check out the article here - I look forward to the "Thoughts about Comics" article that come out every Wednesday. It still really blows my mind to see my work on there sometimes - or just to see my name pop up in a Bleeding Cool article... That site is my go to outlet for comics news...  so its always equal parts excitement and dread... got to stay away from the comments section - but I can't help it!

ANYWAYS! Army of Darkness # 3 comes out today - YOU GO BUY NOW!!!! (please)

Metal Locus in Previews from Cosmic Times.

SO. Metal Locus is finally coming out! It's been finished for years ( i think since 2010?), but will finally be published from Cosmic Times in 2015! I'm doing some covers for the upcoming issues - I'm glad this series finally found a home. It's a fun concept that I hope we see more of in the future.

Check out the Cosmic Times website for more information!
